Henry at 9 Months
[late July]
Henry started crawling somewhere around 7 months, with an army crawl. A fast army crawl. Before we knew it, he was all over the house. Not long after that he started pulling himself up on furniture to stand up.
Henry thinks it's hilarious when he sneezes, and laughs every time. He has an easy smile, and is already joking around with us. Annabelle can really get him going. One of her favorite ways to entertain him in the car is to yell "balloons!!! balloons!!!" over and over in her high pitched, excited voice, along with an occasional "cookies!!! cookies!!!" Henry will laugh and laugh until he can't catch his breath.
At around 9 months Henry started eating more table food, and is pretty good at chewing with his two little teeth. We sit back in amazement at him eating pretty much whatever we give him. Like Annie, he loves fruit, cheese, and rice. His absolute favorites are peaches and nectarines.

22 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile)
30 inches tall (95th percentile)

the monkey claw
[early spring, at our old house]
John got me "the monkey claw" when I was pregnant and having a hard time picking things up. But I think he and Annie ended up using it more than I did, including chasing each other around the house with its little suction cup hands, shouting "the monkey claw is going to get you...!"

first walk in the new neighborhood
[early May; Annie 3, Henry 6 months]
This video isn't that great, but I love the way Annie says 'squirrels' at the end, and how excited she is to explore the new neighborhood.
I've gotten a bit behind. In May we moved, I started a new job, and Henry was baptized. I've been working longer hours, so it's been hard to get things back to normal. We're finally mostly settled in, missing our old neighbors, but loving our new place. We moved only a mile from our old house, so we're still in a part of San Jose we love, but the surrounding streets are much better for taking walks.
